SQL Developer

Halyk Finance announces a vacancy for the position of SQL Developer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a legacy system where a Delphi application serves as a thin client, and all business logic is implemented on the SQL Server database side (procedures, functions, partially triggers);

• Interact with analysts and support teams to implement changes;

• Enhance existing logic and develop new functionality in SQL Server, which the business regularly initiates;

• Participate in the transformation of the architecture, including the gradual transfer of some logic to the service layer (where it will be effective).

We are looking for a candidate who

• Has experience in development for Microsoft SQL Server - proficient in T-SQL (procedures, functions, triggers, views);

• Understands the principles of data normalization and building a relational model;

• Has experience in analyzing execution plans and optimizing queries;

• Knows the structure of indexes, principles of choosing clustered and non-clustered keys, using filtered and included columns;

• Understands transactions, locks, isolation levels;

• Knows backup and recovery scenarios;

• Understands the principles of reporting systems (FastReport or similar);

• Has a bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, engineering, or related fields.

Advantages

• Experience in automating SQL tasks using PowerShell or Python;

• Experience with ETL/CDC (NiFi, Debezium), DWH;

• Experience with DevOps approaches and code versioning;

• Experience with Zabbix, Grafana, Graylog & ELK;

• Experience in maintaining PostgreSQL databases;

• Experience in the financial sector (brokerage, banking, insurance).
